Job Summary:
Responsible to the training lead for completing all work related to the technical writing requirements for the project, including all the subprojects.

Responsible to the training lead for completing all work related to the technical writing requirements for the project, including all the subprojects.
Role and Responsibilities
- Write training manuals that meet the training and work requirements for the plant operators and maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate work objectives, assignments, and scheduling with the training lead.
- Maintain primary responsibility for developing and writing material for operating and/or Training manuals, instructional guides.
- Work methods and procedures, the installation, operation and maintenance of machinery and other equipment and training.
- Observe operational and maintenance activities to determine best practices as content for operational and maintenance procedures.
- Interview operations and maintenance personnel and read technical manuals and other materials to become familiar with the technologies and production methods.
- Review manufacturers’ specifications, drawings, and other data relative to the operation, maintenance, and servicing of equipment.
- Assemble and organize materials then complete writing assignments according to established standards of order, clarity, conciseness, style / format, and terminology.

- Knowledge, Experience and Skillset Required:
- Preferably a college diploma or degree, with 5 years’ experience in the maintenance and operations departments of oil and gas companies, primarily in the area of technical writing / authoring of operations and maintenance training manuals.
- Knowledge of offshore operations and production systems is an advantage.
- Must also possess an ability to work in harsh and inclement conditions.
- Experience in writing Training manuals, O&M manuals and developing operating and maintenance procedures would be advantageous.
- Creates new work instructions ensuring consistent format, required safety information, and technical data are included
- Manages the Procedure Management system
- Collaborate with Engineering department to ensure connection between business systems and to improve reporting systems
- Create and update courses/pages/content areas within the system
- Updates operations and maintenance procedures as needed from end user and/or through the MOC process for domestic manufacturing facilities
- Ensures that the most recent version of operating/maintenance procedures are available to the end user
- Maintains Training Manuals and revises as needed
- Completes all required notifications for document change
- Manages revision history
- Ensures approval process prior to document implementation
- Develop and manage an electronic training filing system
- Assist site training team with support as needed
PREFERRED CRITICAL SKILLS
- Excellent writing ability
- Understanding of English grammar rules
- Previous writing experience required
- Electronic database management skills
