TAX FREE Contractual Job Opportunity for an experienced Petrophysics Specialist (LWD Operations) to be based in Qatar by a leading operating oil and gas company.
Job Purpose:
Performance of LWD [i.e. Formation Evaluation (FE), and Well Placement (WP) /GeoSteering (GS)] data acquisition and related activities, associated with active field development [i.e. Tendering for contract LWD services, Well Information Summary (WIS) preparation [LWD FE and WP sections], LWD operations planning [including offset-well data integration /pre-job modelling], occasional on-site supervision and QC of offshore and onshore LWD logging activities, quicklook interpretation [using Techlog™ software], multi-stage perforation recommendations, QA/QC of Field Log deliverables and subsequent Data Processing /Interpretation Reports, LWD operations Service Quality (SQ) tracking and management, maintenance and implementation of Standards of Performance (SoP) and Best Practices, leading After-Action Reviews (AAR), maintenance of petrophysical /perforating database, review/approval of LWD vendor invoices, and mentoring of less experienced staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Required:
· Fluent in English language [demonstrated verbal and written skills].
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Petrophysics, Geology, or Engineering from an accredited and recognized university.
· Minimum of 10 yrs post-degree, relevant LWD WP and GS working experience.
· Minimum of 5 yrs experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
· Minimum of 5 yrs carbonate reservoir experience.
· Minimum of 5 yrs new field development experience.
· Minimum of 2 yrs recent experience working with gas reservoirs.
· Demonstrated strong background /knowledge of Carbonate Geology.
· Demonstrated dual experience /knowledge of Petrophysical Analysis, Formation Evaluation, and/or Reservoir Characterization technical aspects during field development.
· Demonstrated dual experience /knowledge of LWD and Wireline (WL) services, tools, measurements, and techniques.
· Demonstrated ability to integrate Multidisciplinary Technical Data.
· Demonstrated versatility across all Well Placement and GeoSteering techniques in use [model-compare-update, dip /True Stratigraphic Thickness (TST) and GeoSteering with images, Distance-To-Boundary (DTB) measurements, and GeoMapping applications and limitations &/. . . ]
· Demonstrated ability to compare different /successive generations of technology amongst each other.
· Demonstrated ability to compare range of technologies available across multiple vendors.
· Demonstrated ability to use Techlog™ software.
· Demonstrated ability to use common PC software [MS Word™, Excel™, PowerPoint™ &/. . . ]
· Demonstrated Technical Writing and Documentation skills, with ability to generate and document new ideas /concepts to improve workflows and technical understanding.
· Familiar with offshore operations and safety.
Desired:
· Mentoring experience.
· Experience in a leadership role [i.e. can function both independently and in a team]
· International work experience.
· Experience working in multicultural environments.
· Experience working with a major integrated oil company.
