Bridge (Cable Stay) Project Manager - Myanmar

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a recently awarded Cable Stay Bridge project in Myanmar.

Opportunity:

This leading International consultancy has a strong reputation for winning and successfully delivering similar projects throughout the world as well as various other major Infrastructure programmes. The successful individual shall be joining the project from the beginning and shall play a key role in it's success over the next 24 months.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager shall be required for the Design Review and Construction supervision phase of the project. Contract administration (FIDIC conditions) and management shall be the responsibility of the project Manager supported by a team of experts consisting of both regional and internationals. Other shall include:

  • As a Project Management Consultant, work with the Employer to develop and establish the contract and procedures for delivery of the EPC services.
  • Oversee the review of the concept design of cable stay bridge supported by our engineering management team, review the technical and performance specifications and provide the necessary recommendation. Ensure the key contract terms are compiled in the contract.
  • Oversee the evaluation the permanent works detailed design by our engineering management team, to check the compliance with the Employer requirements and international codes and standards.
  • Develop a communication and co-ordination plan to identify all stakeholders and establish the procedures for communication among all stakeholders involved in the project. Conduct weekly progress meeting with the Employer and EPC Contractor.
  • Supported by the HSE specialist, develop a healthy and safety environment management plan with the EPC Contractor and manage the site activities.
  • The Project manager will take proactive and responsible for schedule control, it is aimed to detect any potential issue or delay early, investigate possible solutions, report and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Develop a project management plan, work with the construction supervision QA/QC team and responsible to supervise the construction works throughout the construction, completion and defects liability periods.
  • Conduct monitoring of the EPC Contractor's construction activities in all disciplines, including environmental and enabling works, temporary traffic management, civil and foundation works, major temporary works, cable stay works and others.
  • Inspect on the EPC Contractor's outstanding punch list or defect. Ensure all defects are completed and closed off.

Key requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in related subject (ideally M.Sc.)
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in structural engineering works
  • 10 years of International Projects.
  • Strong Cable Stay experience
  • Regional knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.

Salary Package:

The salary package on offer is flexible as this is a new scheme my client is currently establishing the budget for each positions however a full expatriate package including Flights, accommodation etc. is offered.
