Major Projects Director - Rail
A well known international multidisciplinary Consultancy is looking for a Major Projects Director within their expanding rail team.
The successful Major Projects Director will provide leadership to a number of Railway projects throughout Australia but the role will be based in Brisbane. The role will include:
*Providing expertise in rail design and delivery of large complex rail projects
*Job delivery, including experience in work planning and financial management, together with client relationship skills and proposal preparation
*Providing both leadership and technical advice to project team members
*Reviewing of and ensuring compliance with the components of the project for which responsible, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies and the interfaces with other disciplines
*Promoting and marketing all facets of services during interfaces with clients and colleagues in other sectors offices
*Identifying and managing risks associated with the design and delivery of rail designs ensuring risk-based approach is adhered to
*Maintaining a good understanding of the background of the client's business and industry to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry
*Building strong customer relationships, and demonstrate your ability to understand our clients core business and ensure that services meet their expectations
*Utilizing your network of contacts and business development skills to actively promote our business and develop client relationships
*Demonstrating your ability and passion for providing technical advice and project leadership while embracing a culture that values teamwork
*Showing the desire to contribute to a range of civil projects.
You will have:
*Relevant degree recognized by Engineers Australia, Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent preferable
*15+ years post graduate experience including experience of leading inter disciplinary design interfaces for rail projects
*Diverse brownfield rail experience, Track, stations, rail facilities experience
*Experience in leading design in a consultant/contractor organisation and working in a tendered design services environment
*Proven ability to operate, and influence at senior levels together with demonstrable experience of being able to check and approve designs for technical accuracy
*Experience in application of standards and cost/benefit decision making to achieve best value in design and
*Well-developed technical and commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of the industry and a demonstrated ability in securing opportunities.
