Chief Technician / Qatar

The Factory Chief Operator-Technician is a full-time employee of the Factory who will play an effective role in the preparation of the workshop environment and the learning line before, during and after experiential trainings, awareness- raising seminars and “learn” modules of Learn & Transform programs. Key responsibilities include:

• To ensure that training environments as well as required tools and materials ready for the shopfloor exercises during Model Factory trainings
• To prepare, revise and update all SOPs, instructions, posters, signs etc. at the shopfloor
• To perform basic-level / standard maintenance and monitoring of machines and equipment (wherever certified to do so)
• To do CNC programming and update whenever necessary
• To train and mentor operators on how to run the exercises and role plays during awareness raising seminars, experiential trainings and learn & transform programs
• To keep track of attendance by operators
• To act as operators during experiential training modules
• To assist Model Factory Manager for performance evaluation of Operators

 

• Reporting Structure

The Chief Operator-Technician works under and reports to the Factory Manager and his performance is evaluated by the Factory Manager depending on the feedback by  Factory Trainer-Consultants.
 

• Minimum Qualificationsand Experience

Education:
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering of Engineering Faculties, Manufacturing Engineering of Technology Faculties or Mechanical Education of Technical Education Faculties or similar
Experience:
5 years of professional working experience
Language requirements:
Fluent written and spoken English – Arabic or Indian is an asset
Computer skills:
Microsoft Office, CNC programming knowledge
 
 
 

• Skills and Competencies
• To have knowledge and experience in the field of lean manufacturing
• To have at least 3 years of experience and knowledge in discrete manufacturing
• To have at least 3 years of professional business experience or industrial experience
• To have teamwork, business organization and communication skills
• To have knowledge in CNC programming, preferrably with Siemens control panels
