Our client bring the right people together to deliver ambitious refurbishment and fit-out projects, both Cat A and Cat B, that meet their clients’ deadlines, budgets and expectations. They specialise in office and industrial units throughout London and the South-East of England, ranging in value from £100k to £3m plus. This role is primary responsible for pricing projects. Working closely with colleagues in the pre-contracts team, the Estimator will produce detailed schedules of work using their own extensive knowledge and experiences as well as that of the company and our approved subcontractors. This will involve communicating with clients, project managers, site managers, subcontractors and other colleagues. The Estimator will also be expected to conduct site surveys and attend pre-contracts meetings.

This role is primary responsible for pricing projects. Key accountabilities:
- Enter new enquires into the systems both on-line and hard copy;
- Meet clients to take detailed briefs dependent on the scope of the project;
- Send out tender forms to subcontractors for pricing input;
- Organise and participate in site survey visits to help all parties understand the project;
- Take measurements on site and use these to work out costs for specific items that need pricing;
- Negotiate costs to ensure the best price is achieved;
- Complete forms of tender ensuring deadlines are met;
- Update information held on our systems, ensuring compete records are maintained;
- Raise purchase orders in line with the price(s) agreed;
- Work with the project managers to support the valuations process throughout the project;
- Liaise with colleagues, site managers and subcontractors to ensure all information is accurate.
Person specification:
- Extensive experience of Estimating projects valued between £100k to £1m;
- Proven ability to understand the project process in the context of refurbishment and fit out;
- Ability to prioritise workload when working on several projects simultaneously and to tight deadlines;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels both on site and client side with the ability to break down complex procedures and details for non-technical clients;
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, up to date information;
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as using own initiative;
- Experience of using Microsoft Excel and Outlook;
- A current driving licence is essential.
