Contract: Chemical Technician / United States

Chemical Technician - Northern, CA (East Bay) 

Description:

Currently looking for a Technician to help support the on-going work at local oil refineries in East Bay (Northern CA) Area. The Technician will be primarily responsible for supporting day to day operations of a specialty chemical service account. Under general supervision and with safety in mind, the Technician will be conducting routine chemical analysis and services to ensure conformance to key chemical treatment parameters. This will also include sample collection, laboratory analysis, chemical deliveries and injection system maintenance/adjustments.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform field sampling of oil and water samples
• Perform basic laboratory testing
• Document, submit and communicate lab results
• Monitor and maintain chemical injection systems
• Manage chemical usages and inventories
• Escort and assist with chemical deliveries
• Build strong relationships with key customers
• Work safely and within customer and BHGE’s safety guidelines

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Solid mechanical aptitude
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Schedule flexibility to allow for occasional overtime on evenings and weekends
• Participate in a random drug testing program

Desired Characteristics:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
• Experience working in a refinery
• Experience working in a lab
• Experience in process chemical or water treatment
