Description

Mechanical discipline lead will be part of Company follow-up team based in the FPSO Contractors office. Focus will be on follow-up during execution of a lump sum EPCiC contract. Specific responsibilities include :

  • Ensure that technical solutions are developed and aligned with the Pre-Feed concept and Contract documentation
  • Coordinate Company mechanical engineering resources in Contractor office (2 to 3 people) and be focal point towards contractor mechanical discipline
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with Contractors Mechanical lead and discipline engineers with agreed regular meeting structure
  • Ensure that Company requirements and Authority requirements are understood by Contractor and implemented in the design
  • Give input to the Project Risk register based on evaluated risks within discipline, and follow up according to agreed action plans
  • Implement agreed risk based follow up of procurement and manufacturing activities for mechanical packages
  • Participate in technical bid evaluation activities for mechanical equipment
  • Participate in design, test and mechanical completion activities for selected supplier packages
  • Close liason with Leading Advisors in Equinor to ensure required specialist support and alignment for decision gate reviews
  • Technology qualification follow up as required for equipment packages
  • Participate in interdiscipline reviews, such as HAZID, HAZOP and 3D model reviews
  • Review of project documentation

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • MSc / BSc within mechanical engineering
  • Min 10 years experience in oil and gas industry and follow-up of mechanical packages, especially rotating mechanical equipment
  • Previous experience with offshore, deepwater floating facilities and FPSO are positive
