Contracts Engineer - Subsea Production Systems / France

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Bid Contracts Engineer in Paris. The successful applicant will be a key appointment to the Subsea Production Systems business unit and will have previous experience in contract writing during RFQ/CFT stages.

Location: Paris (some travel expected)

Type of contract: (Perm) or (Contract)

Key duties will include:

• Prepare the documentation for such requests in coordination with technical duets and internal client
• Send out the requests to the agreed contractors
• Organize, prepare face to face meetings if applicable
• Receive the responses, analyze them, prepare summary report(s) and recommendations for the project team/category manager
• Ensure appropriate document management
• Prepare the ‘dossier’ for the Call for Tender.
  • Ensure the dossier uses the correct standard legal template
  • Ensure that specific legal aspects required are included covering different phases of the contract: (design, engineering, procurement, construction, etc)
  • Ensure that technical requirements are captured in the dossier for the different, relevant phases of the contract execution (with technical duet and internal client input)
  • Ensure that the right commercial bid structure is reflected in the dossier
  • Ensure that the recommended CFT tools are being used like Ariba®
• Bidders List: Complete and prepare the contractor shortlist; manage (with the Global Category Manager and the technical duet) the pre- qualification process (using Company’s tools).
• Send out and manage the CFT process, including handling questions/clarifications, organizing meetings (if any).
• Prepare and document evaluation process of the tenders and ensure approval is obtained before receipt of the bids.
• Receive the responses to the CFT, analyze them, ask for clarifications (where required) and manage the commercial and legal evaluations and negotiations.
• Write up recommendation to award (RTA).
• Ensure applicable contractors have been compliance screened through the prevailing compliance processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable process and tools, including document management.
• Prepare the final contract documents for signature and ensure sign off from legal where required
• Ensure signatures from both parties are obtained on time
• Communicate to the unsuccessful bidders
• prepare for handover of the dossier to the contract manager
• Participate in a After Action Review (REX) if applicable, and conduct an After Action Review (REX) on the CFT process if required.

Requirements:

• Experience in capital projects in Oil & Gas industry especially Subsea Production Systems.
• Experience with RFQ/CFT’s for FEED activities related to Subsea developments.
• A deep understanding of the RFQ/CFT and contract structures for these types of contracts, preferably experience with industry standard contract templates.
• Fluent in French and English
