Pump Design Technical Expert

As the Design Expert, you will be conducting the analysis, modification, and design of progressive cavity pump products and/or projects. This position will be responsible for the New Product Design of PC pump and supporting the existing fleet of tools. You must be proficient in the design, layout, and application of PC pumps with a successful track record of having delivered innovative solutions to the market. Further the cause of research by developing innovative solutions to improve performance for PC pumps. Participate in design teams to review test (lab and field) results and implement design improvements. You will lead, advise and assist in resolving field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services.

Job Duties:

  • Leads programs by establishing project development plans and approving design documents that follow Health, Safety, and Environment processes.
  • Provides engineering guidance and uses advanced engineering techniques to meet complex design criteria.
  • Develops custom equations and solutions using various engineering tools.
  • Provides recommendations for test results and assists with complex tests.
  • Reviews and assesses appropriate standards, regulations, and specifications for testing and reliability analysis on projects and processes.
  • Delivers innovative Intellectual Property recommendations for Halliburton and reviews technical papers.
  • Provides technical expertise to meet internal and external customer needs and requirements.
  • Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains open lines of communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Represents team in professional societies in the area of specialization

Required Qualifications:

  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5-10 years of oil service industry experience.
  • Extensive experience with progressive cavity pump product design, testing and application, including elastomer development and testing.
  • Experience with lab testing, qualification and field qualification of progressive pumps
  • Creative in solving design problems
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing innovative solutions
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • 3D modeling skills using Solidworks, Pro-E or other CAD software.
