This is a long term contract opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst with a background in the oil and gas sector. You will be joining a world renowned Oil and Gas operator based in Melbourne's CBD. This is a critical position in supporting the geotechnical arm of their business and ideally you will have been exposed to this facet of the oil and gas and/or mining industry throughout your career.
The key responsibility of this role will be to import, cleanse, validate and analyse data with the purpose of understanding or drawing conclusions to support the team. You will consolidate and/or present data in charts, graphs, or tables. The focus of this role will be to improve data quality and promoting effective use of standard data management tools & processes. In this position, you will receive a high level of support and guidance from senior management.
To be successful you must possess at least one to two years of experience working as either an Engineering Technician or Data Analyst in either the mining or Oil and Gas industry in Australia. A high level of data management proficiency is required with excellent attention to detail being a fundmanental point of selection criteria. This role will be offered on an initial 12 month contract basis with the opportunity for this to be extended subject to performance. The successful candidate will be based in the company's CBD head office and be rewarded with a highly competitive hourly rate.
