Project Engineer (Electrical)
Work Location: Saudi Arabia
Project Engineer (Electrical) primary role is to ensure that engineering design, procurement, construction and project completion is done in compliance with the project contract requirements i.e. project schedule, cost, HSE, company standards and procedures. The Project Engineer role also involves in some cases to review and study modifications to infrastructure, systems and supplied equipment required during construction and maintenance of new rig or rig refurbishment contracts. You will be called upon to design and review electrical engineering/construction aspects of new build contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will work on the complete project lifecycle and your role will include a great variety of responsibilities.
These will include:-
Formally design or study electrical modifications to new rig and marine rig operation contracts.
Execute capital projects according to the scope, schedule and budget.
Responsibility for project development: preliminary engineering to detail designs to construction and the final safe turnover to proponent.
Manage Engineering services design contractor activities during the development of project proposal, include definition of project work scope and schedule requirements. Development of detailed estimate leading to funding appropriation and approval.
Develop and preparation of contracting plan and strategy for solicitation, evaluation, and award of contract for detail engineering, procurement, and construction.
Manage contractor preparation of detailed design drawings, material specifications and procurement, and/or construction bid packages.
Be familiar with international procedures of Projects Phases, Engineering Phases, Bidding procedure, Procurement Process, Construction Requirements, and up to date Best Practices.
Fully understand contract documents (inclusive of appendices, drawings and specifications), project execution plan, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications and project schedule to support project manager and/or company representative in timely completion of project.
Review and resolve day to day contractors' claims and complaints related to assigned project (Electrical) work during construction, and ensure HSE compliance.
Assist in managing and reviewing the project progress, i.e., planned vs actual. Review of project schedule, coordinating and monitoring the assigned project progress, and challenge below par performance of the contractor.

We seek a strong career focussed Electrical Project Engineer with a keen to desire to continue a career in the Rig and Marine Construction environment.
Engineering Design & Construction phase experience obtained from Rig/Marine or Shipyard environment and will be a Professionally Registered Engineer with a bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university; a higher degree is preferred.
