We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within Canada. Our client, a is currently seeking an HSSE Assurance Lead in Kitimat, BC for a long term Contract.

- Domestic and International travel will be required to support regulatory, contractor and stakeholder engagements.

- Lead and formulate the process for HSSE assurance activities
- Management of HSSE Assurance Activities using a structured methodology providing assessments against contractual, company, contractor and subcontractor HSSE requirements.
- Utilize an assessment methodology to validate, measure and share findings on HSSE compliance across the organization.
- Lead HSSE Assurance Assessments including documentation review, interviews and observation to formulate a report targeted at continuous improvement.
- Liaise with Contractors and subcontractors on the integration of HSSE continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead and support development of HSSE Assessment tools and processes to facilitate HSSE compliance across the organization, including development of HSSE improvement plans as required.
- Follow through on action closure from HSSE Assessment findings and recommendations
- Reporting out on HSSE Assessments to the site leadership team and project executive.
- Support awareness of HSSE compliance through all levels of the construction and fabrication organization.
- Minimum of 4-year Degree related to Occupational Health & Safety or a similar technical background with increased experience.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety compliance requirements in Canada and China, in particular related to project development and construction
- Proven capability and experience in high risk construction activities, including but not limited to road transport, human/machine interface, working at heights, confined space entry, hazardous energy and lifting & rigging), as it relates to Fabrication and Construction.
- Expertise in management system design, implementation and continual improvement, specifically as it relates to HSSE management systems.
- Highly skilled in compliance verification principles and processes
- Proficient in Microsoft systems including Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with building relationships with internal and external parties.
- Good listening, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, good team working skills in multi-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated experience with HSSE audit processes and execution
- Working knowledge of HSSE management system design, implementation, assurance and continual improvement.
- Knowledge of International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) Recommended Practices
