Duration: 3 years

5/6 days per week, 10 hours per day.

Location: Qatar Onshore / possibility of going Overseas

Job Description:

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Safety Engineering or equivalent
• 20 years’ experience within industrial safety and loss prevention in the oil and gas industry with emphasis on risk assessments, safe systems of work, and emergency procedures, preferably in a major project environment. At least 5 years in a Major LNG project
• Experience with Quantitative Risk Assessments
• Experience with fire fighting design
• Experience with HAZID, HAZOP, Bow Tie Analysis, Physical Effects Modelling
• Experience developing Design Safety Case

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead comprehensive Loss Prevention activities including input and review of philosophies, codes of practice and standards during early project planning, detailed EPC, commissioning and start-up to ensure compliance with standards.
• Lead the development of the Design Safety Case and associated deliverables and ensure these are reviewed.
• Review Contractor’s Loss Prevention/Process Safety Engineering design deliverables.  Support the EPC by providing clear and timely guidance to close out LP studies/activities to complete engineering design milestones.

Key Result Areas:

• Lead / Drive EPC contractor to deliver technical safety studies (e.g. QRA, HAZOPs, PHA studies etc.) to deliver per execution plan.
• Ensure cost effective Loss Prevention programs are utilized by PMT to improve project efficiency, reduce costs, maintain high quality safety levels and schedules.
• Participate in Loss Prevention activities at Contractors’ offices to align plans and schedules with safety and operational requirements as agreed in project deliverables.
