We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Civil) to join our Project Management team (PMT). Saudi Aramco Project Management Teams are responsible and accountable for the delivery of best in class capital projects assigned to department. PMT is directly involved in executing and managing assigned projects safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest standards of integrity and compliance. This will involve engineering design, procurement and construction of various sizes ($), types and complexity of small, medium to multi-billion dollar mega projects. Some of these mega projects include the Marjan Increment Program, the Crude Oil to Chemicals program, the Gas Compression Program, the Berri & Zuluf Increment and AMIRAL Program.
Project Management Department manage and execute projects usually from multiple site offices or engineering contractor design offices, geographically scattered throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Project Engineer (Civil) primary role is to ensure that engineering design, procurement, construction and project completion is done in compliance with the project contract requirements i.e. project schedule, cost, HSE, company standards and procedures. Project Engineer role also involves in some cases to or review and study modifications to infrastructure, oil & gas processing / handling and utilities facilities. Occasionally called upon to design civil/structural aspects of new facilities of the types mentioned.
Minimum requirements
Engineering Design & Construction phase experience.
Professionally Registered Engineer.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university; a higher degree is preferred.
You will have Seven years of related experience, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry.
You should have experience in the support of both small and large scale capital projects.
Work experience in GCC, Saudi Arabia or Saudi Aramco is a plus.
You will be familiar with International Engineering Codes and Standards.
You will have excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
Dynamic attitude towards project improvements and savings.
PMP Certification is desirable but not mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Manage and execute capital projects according to the work scope, schedule and budget.
Ensuring compliance to company standards, procedures, policies and agreed work specifications.
Sound understanding for the Civil Engineering Disciplines Engineering and Construction Deliverables. Able to review quality of design through engineering drawings and specifications.
As a part of project management team, responsible for the project development and completion: Preliminary engineering to detail designs to construction and the final and safe turnover to proponent.
Manage General Engineering Services (GES+) design contractor activities such as:
Coordinate activities and resolve issues among proponents, contractors and other parties to allow construction activities to progress according to plan and final mechanical completion.
Review and resolve day to day contractors’ claims and complaints related to assigned project (Civil) work during construction and ensure HSE compliance.
Fully understand contract documents (inclusive of appendices, drawings and specifications), project execution plan, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications and project schedule to support project manager and/or company representative in timely completion of project.
Performs change order estimating and assists the Project Manager or Company representative in change order negotiations.
Project Reporting and implementation of company initiatives during project execution. Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
Attend project meetings e.g. progress, stakeholders, design review, plot plan, value improvement.
Assist in managing and reviewing the project progress i.e. planned vs actual. Review of project schedule, coordinating and monitoring the assigned project progress and challenge below par performance of the contractor.
Review, coordinates and monitors invoices (claimed vs actual physical progress checks) and contractor’s submittals.
Use of company systems and tools e.g. Sharek, CRM, SAP
Upholds engineering ethics and maintain high standards of professional behaviour and conduct.

- Detailed Engineering.
Manage contractor preparation of detailed design drawings, material specifications and procurement, and/or construction bid packages.
Provide input to develop and prepare contracting plan and strategy for solicitation, evaluation and award of contract for detailed engineering, procurement and construction.
Responsible to ensure that design is aligned with constructability such as construction methods, technology and the translation of engineering design, standards, drawings and specifications into the constructed facility.
Participate and/or review the project specific design, construction and any critical reviews & studies inclusive of Topography, Geo-tech, Modularization, Pre- castings, Foundation designs, Constructability.
