My client are a leading global chemical operator whom have been developing their Circular Economy strategy to drive a sustainable future for the last few years and as a result have acquired plastic recycling plants in Europe.
 
Their new investments will meet the market need for recycled polymers and also keep them at the forefront of the pioneering circularity in the chemicals/plastics market.
 
This role has huge scope in transforming the plastics value chain and as such they are looking for an experienced leader in the field of plastics recycling to drive the organisation forward. The role of Feedstock Sourcing Manager would be the most senior person responsible for securing feedstock and report into the Head of Circular Economy with a direct link to the board.
 
The successful person in this position will ensure long-term supply of competitive feedstock for the company’s recycling operations and also develop and manage the required feedstock element within their mega-investment project portfolio. You will work closely with senior stakeholders both externally including supplier and internally to optimise their processes and plants. Internally you will be collaborating with their Innovation Headquarters, sales & marketing teams, asset, quality and finance teams, as well as their recycling plants and be a key player within their Circular Economy division to help grow and shape this further for the future.
 
 
Main responsibilities:

• Network across Europe to drive value chain and secure feedstock in line with commercials
• Work closely with core team including innovation and the board to secure long-term feedstock for the group
• Take global responsibility for the end-to-end management of entire feedstock for plastics recycling
• Pro- actively drive lessons learnt across the recycling locations to improve recycling best practice
• Develop, implement and manage contracting & sourcing strategy for feedstock and recycling operations ensuring long-term sustainable supply
• Develop strategy for corporate growth of circular economy portfolio in line with company strategies and policies
• Align procurement and business processes to streamline and optimise set-up
• Drive innovation potential of supply market to optimise process and plant performance across circular economy/supplier interface working closely with stakeholders to ensure quality management
• Manage and drive buying teams within key locations
• Support corporate strategic projects within circular economy including developing new business within sourcing

 
 
Essential requirements:

• Passionate about circular economy and transforming the plastic value chain
• Analytical strategic and tactical thinking leader with a natural coaching and influencing style
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal and stakeholder management acumen
• Exceptional commercial ability with strong knowledge of procurement processes and legal procurement contracting
• Well connected with a global network and knowledge of where to buy recyclable plastics
• Waste/recycling industry background
• Excellent communication skills; fully fluent verbal and written – English, with German also beneficial
• Degree qualified or equivalent
