Production Engineer 

Location: Corpus Christi 

Duration: 1 year to possible direct hire 

  • Understand fluid flow, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and hydrocarbon process chemistry as applied to an operating process unit
  • Familiar with P&IDs and PFD facility drawings
  • B.S. Chemical or Petroleum Engineering
  • 4 years experience as a production or process engineer in a process plant or operations environment
  • TWIC card required
  • COP experience
Duration: 9-12 month contract assignment

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Production Engineer- reports to the Lead Production Engineer and is responsible for closely working with the Production Engineering Team to support assigned Operational Readiness (OR) and Risk Register (RR) items.

This would include but not be limited to supporting the development of plant optimization and monitoring tools specific to all sections of the LNG facility, departmental KPIs, Production Reporting Tools, catalysts and chemicals inventory management.

KNOWLEDGE:

Understands the principles of fluid flow, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and hydrocarbon process chemistry as applied to an operating process unit.  Familiar with the hazards of hydrocarbon processes and the methods used to keep process facilities safe. Familiar with P&ID and PFD facility drawings. 

RESPONSIBLITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Assist with the development of daily Production status report templates depicting all critical information and data for Production Management. This includes Inlet Feed Gas measurement and allocation, Fuel Gas consumption, LNG/NGL Production, Emissions and Waste measurements, and Efficiency monitoring.
  2. Assist with development of departmental KPIs
  3. Assist with development and utilization of forecasting and scheduling tools.
  4. Assist with development and utilize scheduling tools that monitor process efficiency and make improvement recommendations that will increase productivity.
  5. Assist with development of tools for monitoring and ordering catalyst and chemicals needed to manage the facility.
  6. Support procedure development related to capital projects, temporary or new modes of operation, and compliance.
  7. Reinforce safety and environmental awareness through frequent job observations and by interfacing with plant personnel.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Job is performed in an industrial plant environment. 
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by client.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write. 
  • Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors and outdoors, and be exposed to year-around weather conditions, ocean environment, and noise. There is a considerable amount of outdoor activities involved.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  •  Required to pass regularly scheduled physical examinations mandated by regulatory authorities.
  • Required to obtain mandated certification by attending Company-sponsored training in basic first aid, CPR, and LNG firefighting.
