Job Description – Domain Champion

 

 

Job Summary

The Domain Champion role is to oversee all aspects of the Drilling Services – Measurement While Drilling (MWD) and Logging While Drilling (LWD) technical services. To ensure on time and quality delivery of all technical requirements according to customer needs, operational service delivery and company guidelines. The Domain Champion will design and oversee implementation of all processes and procedures with regards to MWD/LWD interpretation data services. The Domain Champion will be a key adviser to clients on MWD/LWD services portfolio, interpretation services, development of technical answer products and data delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Establish workflows for Real Time and final petrophysical analysis
2. Ensure customer requirements are met by supporting the planning and development of LWD well-logging solutions
3. Overseeing Real Time data acquisition and quality control support
4. Conduct daily petrophysical evaluations on all MWD/LWD logging operations
5. Overseeing quality assurance of all MWD/LWD logs
6. Overseeing quality control of different phases of petrophysical analysis for MWD/LWD logs
7. Establish and supervise the Log Quality Analysis (LQA) team
8. Archiving of final logs to the company and client master database
9. Meet with major clients to facilitate technical presentation of LWD tools and technology introduction
10. Deliver technical presentations at various local and international technical symposiums
11. Generate technical support solutions to improve analytical techniques and products
12. Offer hands- on support to various business units with necessary data for well placement projects, field studies and geomechanics studies
13. Development of LWD log analysis curriculum for newly hired employees to become independent petrophysicists

Experience and Competency

• Minimum 15 years of experience: 10+ years Domain Champion (Logging While Drilling) experience and 5+ years in field operations (MWD/LWD Operations)
• Competent in petrophysical software
• Track record in publishing SPE technical papers
• Familiar with Real Time Well Placement and Geosteering

Reporting

• The Domain Champion will report to the Drilling Services Country General Manager
