Drilling Superintendent - Algeria
A leading worldwide Oil & Gas operator is looking to recruit a Drilling Superintendent on a long-term contract / consultant basis in Algeria
Qualifications:
•BSc Engineering OR relevant work experience
Essential Job Functions:
·Manage the day to day running of a development drilling program based in Hassi Messaoud.
·Ensure that the drilling team provides the best drilling performance, in a cost effective, secure, and safe manner.
·Act as first point of contact for any well operation issues from the field.
·Assist in evaluating bids and negotiate drilling related contracts with the service providers.
·Liaise and communicate with the rigs, management, engineering, internal clients, and the different service companies.
·Co-ordinate services, personnel and equipment to the rig site.
·Ensure the timely and proper execution of the drilling programs by the drilling supervisors.
·Prepare drilling programs for each well and review daily well reports to ensure well specifications are being followed.
·Identify solutions for unscheduled problems at the rigs with the collaboration of the Drilling Supervisors and engineers. Take managed risks.
·Responsible for the operations, the safety of the personnel and the well
·Perform wellsite inspections to ensure that the drilling contractor and service companies are following HSE policies.
·Supporting Completion and Well Workover group through reviewing of procedures and processes along with supporting/advising on ongoing operations as needed.
Required Experience:
·Significant operator/contractor experience with experience as a rig-site supervisor.
·Experience supervising junior engineers is preferable
·Proficient in engineering disciplines including Drilling, Completions and Well Workover Engineering.
·Must be computer proficient in the Microsoft Office software suite
·International experience in a multi-cultural environment would prove beneficial
·Well Control Certificate Desirable
·Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary operational department would be beneficial.
·English required, French skills would be preferred, Arabic would be beneficial
