Senior IT Project Manager – 12 Months Contract – Surrey
Senior IT Project Manager ESSENTIAL:- Solid Oil & Gas background, preferably Upstream. Deliver Scopes of Work & other delivery documentation artefacts for all the Real-Time applications/ components with involvement & agreement of key stakeholders. Deliver the SoW/SoR, RFI’s & RFPs required to deliver the apps portfolio. Lead the development (& work with IP & PSCM) to create the contracts with agreed GPO IT&S suppliers for application build & support, & ensure the correct terms & conditions, are in place for hardware & applications in compliance with IT&S technical standards. Educated to Degree level or equivalent with supporting PM accreditation (e.g. PMP, APMP, PRINCE 2 Practitioner). Deliver Change & Configuration management processes for application build & deployments
As a Senior IT Project Manager you will take full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation & satisfactory delivery/completion of the required RFI’s/RFPs for the IT&S Applications portfolio for the Tortue Major Project. You will need to facilitate scope & business priority-setting for change initiatives, supporting senior management to ensure that all plans, work packages are aligned to the expected benefits & leads activities required in the realisation of the benefits.

Senior IT Project Manager Responsibilities
- Procurement/Contracts: Work with IP/PSCM to manage the end to end RFI & RFP processes for the applications portfolio.
- Engagement: Engage with their Major Project discipline & Service Owners so that there is a clear understanding of their requirements & schedules.
- Strategy: With appropriate involvement from the IT&S Infrastructure Lead, PLA, PIM & C&I leads, deliver PEPs/Terms of References, Technical Infrastructure Plans & all other delivery documentation artefacts for all the in-scope real-time applications.
- Plans & estimates: Translate documented requirements, in alignment with approved strategies into IT&S activity sets which are budgeted, scheduled & presented in an IT&S Stage Plan for PPM approval.
- Budget: Develop the detailed budget as part of the delivery of each application.
- Work approval & change management: Seek approval of plans & associated budget for their area of work & manage these as work progresses, ensuring that material changes (to both plan & budget) are version controlled & approved within the Major Project organization.
- Resourcing: Based upon the agreed resourcing strategy with the Service Owner & Applications Portfolio Lead, develop short & long term application delivery capability plans to ensure the most efficient resource loading & delivery of activity set.
- IT&S standards & process compliance: Ensure that all IT&S projects comply with the IT&S project management standard & associated IT&S implementation processes (e.g. PEP). Engage with key IT&S support stakeholders (in their area) in EXECUTE to ensure that they are mobilized t deliver the IT&S programme of work. Ensure conformance to Projects OMS, Segment (i.e SUAR), GPO IT&S Op Model & IT&S Standards & Functional Verification process.
- Safety: Demonstrate & follow IT&S safety on the Major Project, ensuring compliance with HSE policies.
- Project communication: Ensure effective communication of IT&S delivery within the Major Project & that all colleagues are aware of the status & achievements. Identify & agree key milestones with the Applications Portfolio Lead & manage the schedule of activities to ensure deployments meet plan & report to the Applications Portfolio Lead as a point of escalation.
- IT&S awareness: Ensure that all staff & contractors appreciate the Application IT&S remit & associated points of contact for services & projects.
- 3rd party interfaces: Work with 3rd party IT management, with key assistance from the Major Projects IT&S team expertise to ensure that: proposed technology solutions are compatible with the client’s environment. Ensure information exchanges are secure & auditable & that required access to Client’s digital services follow IT&S security standards.
- Knowledge sharing: Promote & lead the sharing of Application knowledge & lessons learned across the Major Project IT&S team & across all Major Projects within the segment. Assist the SPA with regard to sharing best practice with the Major Project IT&S community.
- Excellent record of documenting SoRs/SoWs & managing RFI & RFP processes
- Excellent record of Stakeholder Management, including interactions with Governmental departments
- Excellent knowledge of Production Sharing Agreements, commercial judgement & working with partnering organisations
- Experience of applications delivery in the Reliability & Maintenance space including but not limited to Pi/Pi Vision, POA, ERTT v2, CMS/CIIM, EC, System 1 & Smart Signal.
- Excellent & proven track record for application system Handover and Transition to Operations, in particular strong experience in the processes used
- Good knowledge of CVP or alternate stage gate decision process & understanding of underlying project methodologies
- Strong Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Performance Management, Quality & Delivery Assurance skills
- ITIL Expert
- Experience of financial management processes
