SUMMARY:
The Contracts Specialist is responsible for leading negotiations for operations and IT service agreements and assisting the Contracts Manager with Major Construction Contracts.  This position will manage supplier prequalification process and perform other contract administration duties as assigned by Contracts Manager.  This role will report directly to the Contracts Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and manage contract repository and amendment process
  • Manage and Issuance of Service Orders for operations and Capital Construction Projects
  • Manage RFx process and negotiate contract terms, conditions and pricing, including analyzing commercial aspects of supplier proposals
  • Develop and manage Supplier Prequalification Process
  • Liaison between internal and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages
  • Manage contract management post award activities including change order management, invoice issues and claims avoidance
  • Perform contract close out activities
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations by performing supplier audits
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work experience in contract management, and procurement supporting operations and capital construction projects; 7+ years in oil & gas industry preferred
  • Ability to create and execute a contract management process vision, as well as an ability to work within larger organizational objectives
  • Working knowledge of sourcing processes and methodologies
  • Proven success leading cross-division sourcing projects; able to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision under challenging conditions
  • Ability to influence others through both direct and indirect networks; a consensus builder and change agent
  • Working knowledge of contract law
  • Comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with MS Office and Oracle
  • Experience working with Contract Management System(s)
The ideal candidate will possess: the strategic, financial, legal skills to act as an effective change agent; and expertise in contract life cycle management supporting project and operational procurement for a growing midstream operator or related company; and proven experience developing and implementing contract management strategies and processes.
