Process Engineer / Netherlands

Description

• Conduct risk assessments on plant related (process) issues 
• Participate in HAZOP reviews for the current installations to keep HAZOP reviews up to date as per legislation
• Management of change (MOC), conduct risk assessments on relevant changes made to the facility’s processes and equipment 
• Provide technological and product-related knowledge in developing and executing new projects in co-operation with the Technology Office
• Ensure that detailed technical design and drawing activities are carried as planned or better
• Provide technical instructions and transfer knowledge and insight to other employees
• Resolve problems and supervise problem solving execution.
•         Conduct studies and feasibility evaluations of production processes directed at generating capacity, quality and efficiency gains.
• Assess plant processes and equipment for their performance, efficiency and safety and assess the safety and environmental impact of the              plant
• Study demand and/or problem formulation, define requirements and specifications
• Draft, motivate and present development proposals to management for approval 
• Arrange tests and data gathering to be carried out in cooperation with production management 
• Assess the test results in terms of technical production opportunities and potential environmental impact 
• Provide support with respect to permit applications and compliance issues
• Draft and elaborate process flow diagrams and P&ID changes
• Support or lead investigations to identify root causes of process upsets, deviations and incidents
•         Elaborate approved (sub) projects in harmony with existing systems/ equipment and/or those to be developed.
• elaborate ideas on the approach towards and execution of engineering work and subcontracting such in consultation with immediate superior          and/or project manager
• Compile schedule and cost estimates, identify alternatives 
• Supervise outsourced engineering work and check relevant documents and specifications submitted 
• Possibly by outsourcing engineering work in consultation with the departmental head and in cooperation with the sales department
• Provide technological and product-related knowledge in developing and executing new projects in co-operation with the Technology Office
•         Indicate the consequences for other disciplines.
• Study and resolve problems, where necessary in consultation with project manager

Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in process or chemical engineering
• Work experience as operating engineer, laboratory engineer or process engineer min. 2 years
• Knowledge of mass, momentum and heat transfer, reaction chemistry, fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
• Knowledge of process engineering tools like process steady state and/or dynamic simulator, AutoCAD, SmartPlant P&ID 
• Knowledge of relevant design standards and recommended practices
• Knowledge of hazard analysis methodology
•         Problem solving & decision making skills with a result in mind
•         Operational awareness
•         Interested in learning and developing new methods and skills
•         Ability to communicate complex (technical) issues clearly 
•         Fluent English and Dutch
•         Preferably Dutch residence, but capability to work and live in Netherlands
