I & E Superintendent
We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the Oil, Gas and Chemicals Industry. Our client, is a Global Leader in the methanol industry and as a result of ongoing company growth, they now have an opportunity for an I & E Superintendent to join their operation in Equatorial Guinea.
Purpose of the Role:
The Instrument and Electrical Superintendent is expected to cover the Maintenance Manager role when the Manager is on leave. The Instrument and Electrical Superintendent coordinates all Instrument and Electrical maintenance activities for the Methanol plant Operations reporting directly to the maintenance Manager. Job functions will also include Administration of the DCS controls system in accordance with current industry standards. Responsible for the training of EG nationals in Industrial maintenance activities. Support the Engineering and Projects/construction departments when required.

Requirements:
- 10 years of supervisory experience and 15 to 20 years total experience in Instrument and Electrical maintenance. Knowledge of codes such as NEC, NFPA, ANSI and OSHA regulations
- Applicants must be degree educated
- Knowledge and training on Emerson Delta V control systems and related safety shutdown systems would be an advantage but not essential
- HV switching knowledge would be an advantage but not essential
- Good interpersonal skills and previous experience of working with different cultures
- Ensures all activities under their control are performed in line with company standards and procedures. All process piping and fabrication are carried out within requirements of the quality control and current recognized standards
- Ensures activities under their control comply with safety and environmental regulations.
- Works with plant management team and direct reports to develop and implement long-range team goals and to build good working relationships
- Works with Maintenance Management team, direct reports and other departments to develop and implement an integrated maintenance plan for the Production facility.
- Coordinates all electrical maintenance work at the camp and housing facilities.
- Provides technical guidance and supervision to direct reports and their respective discipline teams.
- Acts as local champion for nationalisation and competency/training programs, including development of individuals training plans and performance feedback.
- Communicates and provides information on schedules and daily work activities for their area across all departments and stakeholders.
- Responsible for achievement of maintenance KPI's for their area of responsibility.
- Coaches group members in the aspects of teamwork and leadership.
- Follows and enforces all local and corporate policies and procedures.
- Audits safety rules and procedures to ensure they are being followed.
- Actively participates in setting and reporting of budgets for their area of responsibility.
- Holds all employees accountable for achieving performance standards and following policies and procedures established for the Maintenance Department.
- Strives to motivate employees and delegates authority and responsibility for maintenance activities across their team.
- Completes all supervisory administrative duties in a timely, self-driven and efficient manner.
- Supports Process Safety Management (PSM) processes by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility. Undertakes Additional or other duties will be assigned from time to time by the line manager as required to meet business needs including personal training and development assignment opportunities.
