Regulatory Advisor / Canada

We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client is currently seeking a Regulatory Advisor for a contract role in Calgary Alberta. This role is Monday-Friday with occasional site visits. 

 
Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for ensuring the business unit identifies all compliance obligations from all regulatory bodies and stewards ownership of same 
• Identify, interpret, and translate regulatory legislation, governance, application, approvals and other relevant guidance documents of regulatory agencies in Alberta as well as other provincial jurisdictions 
• Integrate regulatory requirements into project development process and tools (ex. PMOC process, Risk process, Project Controls processes, etc.)
• Directly  influence  regulatory strategy and tactics to achieve goals within the project environment as well as indirect influence into Business Unit decisions on how to (or whether to) proceed with amendments or new approvals
• Provide regulatory direction in engineering development process and construction activities, and understand implications of decisions on both and identify solutions to minimize impact
• Direct inspections, investigations and tours by regulators and internal leaders

Required Qualifications
Experience and Education

• At least 5 years of prior relevant EH&S and/or Regulatory Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, engineering or equivalent education
• Related professional designation is an asset
