Position - Commissioning Supervisor (Onshore Wind Farm)
Essential Responsibilities:
- Preparation of work programs for the timely servicing of assets
- Carry out site inductions for staff, contractors and visitors
- Organise daily work plans for site staff and contractors
- Interpret the requirements of manuals, specifications, bulletins, work instructions, etc. and devise work plans including all required resources
- Ensure the proper maintenance and fault finding of assets
- Manage on-site operations, assets, and personnel to commission wind farms
- Plan and coordinate daily work activities for Commissioning/installation technicians, subcontractors, and other departments on site
- Assure the quality working condition of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) to reach substantial completion at each wind farm
- Supervise and enforce company protocols for testing, handling, and troubleshooting WTG-related systems and subsystems
- Provide technical knowledge to trace problems on WTG sub systems
- Train personnel in WTG technology and project operational processes
- Ensure that legislation and company policies are followed with regards to safety
- Document, report, and archive all the required commissioning documentation
- Communicate effectively with site management, clients, and other departments
- Report to the Site Leader/Manager
- Maintain reports using various software management tools and databases
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organisation's JSA, LOTO, EHS and associated policies/procedures
- Provide weekly and monthly reports to management and the customer
- Report errors, violations, incidents or problems immediately using reporting systems
- Submit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved
- Answer questions from management, Engineering, Sourcing, Projects etc. as required
- Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
- Develop and enforce an on-call roster to work weekends and nights if required or as directed by management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 5+ years of specialized/industry experience
- A minimum of 3 years experience supervising wind service operations or similar industry experience.
- Must be either a qualified engineer, electrical or from mechanical trade background.
- Proven experience in supervision of medium to large work crews.
- Trained to an intermediate level in computer skills.
- Current driver's license
