Rail Electrification Overhead line Engineering Manager

This is a permanent position based out of Oakville, Ontario, Canada. It would require about 30% travel within Canada and US mostly.

* Base Salary -120,000 Canadian Dollars per year (there may be some flexibility based on candidates experience in the required field)


Description:

The Rail Electrification Technical Manager / Systems Engineer / Chief Engineer for Overhead Contact Systems (OCS) / Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) / Overhead Conductor Rail (OCR) is the key technical expert on all projects and will be responsible for ensuring that the project engineering team is best placed to deliver all engineering designs on-time and on-budget whilst maximizing the opportunity to identify additional work opportunities.


Areas of Responsibility:

o Overall accountability for managing the development of fully compliant Engineering bid deliverables that meet the requirements of the bid including the production of a Requirements Compliance Matrix

o Analyze and review the technical feasibility of solutions and the risks

o Manage all project Engineering Quality Gates and Project Milestones during the bid process

o Liaise with off-shore Technical Managers for bids to ensure the most competitive and technically compliant bid is submitted

o Review and sign Engineering Statement for all bids

o Participate in bid risk workshops

o Participate in reviews


Project Responsibilities:


o Overall accountability for managing the development of fully compliant Engineering project deliverables that meet the requirements of the contract

o Lead and capture all technical design conferences

o Review acceptance and Customer release of engineering packages prepared by our Engineering department internally

o Review acceptance and Customer release of engineering packages prepared by our external approved suppliers and or other third parties externally

o Manage all project Engineering Quality Gates and Project Milestones in accordance with the Engineering guideline

o Continuously manage the Engineering project schedule on a project and enterprise level

Qualifications:


o Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred

o Minimum 10 years' experience working within the Rail Electrification market

o P.Eng. Mechanical would be an asset
