Job description: Senior Instrument & Telecom Designer

We have successfully delivered the world’s first subsea compression system – Åsgard - and are now working on a newly-awarded subsea compression project whose compression and boosting systems technology will be ground-breaking for the energy industry. This includes system and delivery competence within Power Modules for subsea variable speed drives, circuit breakers, control power distribution units and telecommunication systems.

Do you want to join the adventure as a Senior Instrument & Telecom Designer on the advanced JansZ subsea compression FEED project?

Responsibilities and Tasks:   

  • Perform instrument and telecom area design and develop relevant area engineering documents
  • Design in 3D modelling tool AVEVA E3D
  • Ensure implementation of statutory requirements, design basis, specifications, standards and corporate requirements
  • Design and develop documents for instrument and telecom cable block diagrams
  • Attend 3D discipline review meetings
  • Co-ordinate interdisciplinary issues with other disciplines
  • Report to ICT lead (Instrument, Controls and Telecom)
Qualifications / Personal Attributes:  

  • Minimum 7 years’ of relevant experience including strong experience with telecom systems layout and modelling within the marine and offshore industries
  • Knowledge and experience working on E3D and PDMS as daily working tools
  • Experience and knowledge with laying out junction box pads in areas, as well as field devices such as, PAGA loudspeakers
  • Solid data knowledge of the following working tools:
    • MS Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, Skype and related
    • MicroStation
    • ProArc (Document database)
    • COMOS (Engineering Database), preferably
  • Fluency in English. Norwegian language skills are considered a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with instrumentation and controls
  • Ability to work independently with separate tasks, to a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong cooperation skills within and across teams
