SIS Technical Communications Specialist – 6 Months Contract – Leeds
Essential:- Experience in software documentation. Experience with at least one XML editing tool (XMetal, Arbortext or Oxygen). Experience with using the DITA framework. Experience with a content management system (CMS). Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
SIS Technical Communications Specialists are responsible for delivering high quality information products that meet business needs for my client’s Integrated Software. These information products include, but are not limited to, Online Help, Installation Guides and Release Notes.
SIS Technical Communications Specialist Responsibilities

SIS Technical Communications Specialists are responsible for delivering high quality information products that meet business needs for my client’s Integrated Software. These information products include, but are not limited to, Online Help, Installation Guides and Release Notes.
SIS Technical Communications Specialist Responsibilities
- Work as a member of the TechCom team and in close collaboration with the product teams to create high quality documentation supporting software applications
- Apply technical communication skills to present information in a clear and concise style
- Review and edit documentation to meet industry and company standards and guidelines
- Use the content management system to create and review documentation
- Create and manage publications for project deliverables as required
- Master’s or Bachelor’s in Technical Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, English, Journalism, Education, or Training
- Proficient communication and presentation skills in English
- Proficient writing and editing skills
- Experience with technical communications standards (Microsoft Writing Styleguide, Chicago Manual of Style, DQTI, Simplified Technical English)
- Displays a positive and ‘can do’ attitude
- Collaborates with team, managers and stakeholders
- Works well individually and meets deadlines
- Learns quickly new skills and adapts to processes
- Experience with SDL Knowledge Center / Content Manager
- HTML / CSS knowledge
- Knowledge of basic project management and agile software development methodologies
- Graphics capture basic editing
- Experience with video editing tool (e.g. Camtasia)
- Software development experience
