I'm seeking an experienced Contract Manager for a big infrastructure project in Copenhagen. The position will require sufficient experience working on Rails, tunnels or Infrastructure projects.
Contract Manager will be responsible for the main risks, opportunities, and the claims strategy with a close cooperation with the Project Directors and Project Managers in the organisation.
Your Background
- University degree in an engineering field, construction management, quantity surveying, business administration or law.
- Contract or Project management experience with at least 5 years in field of supply or EPC for industrial contracts
- Knowledge of Fidic, NEC3, or EPC type of contracts.
- Broad knowledge of contract management
- Legal background is a benefit
- Excellent English skills, both oral and written.
The role will require a high level of professionalism and confidence in negotiations, managing contractual risk as well as executing contracts from the kick off point to the project closure.
Key Responsibilities
The Contract Manager will mainly have the responsibility for the following:
- Tender preparation and negotiations
- In support to the Legal team, review and comment on commercial, operational and technical tender T&Cs of main contracts
- Ensure the identification of contracts baselines (including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimates, proposals, schedules and other documents incorporated in the contract) and highlight areas of risks and opportunities
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects in portfolio of contracts (i.e. payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, provisions, guarantees, etc.)
- Define approval requirements and communicate changes to the customer
- Enforce and defend X contractual interests vis-à-vis customers and suppliers throughout the project life cycle, including monitoring and assessment of changes and deviations, as well as defending and enforcing claims
- In cooperation with the Legal team, develop the negotiation strategy, support negotiations, and handle formal dispute resolution (mediation, litigation and arbitration)
- Contract closure
- Verify that all parties have fulfilled their contractual obligations
- Document and communicate any deficiencies to all appropriate parties as part of the closeout process
- Identify "lessons learned" and ensure communication to the projects team for current and future projects
- Subcontracting
- Be a contract management support to the Supply Chain function, especially with respect to the drafting of PO/subcontracts commercial and technical T&D to protect the company's interests (including flow down of main contracts where applicable), as well as ensure risk and opportunities management under said subcontracts
- Ensure that contract insurance provisions are adhered to, and liaise with Insurance Risk Management regarding occurrences that may be covered by the customer or X provided insurance
Reviewing, analysing and apprising project management of all aspect that govern the contract.
