Digital Field Communications Engineer ESSENTIALS:- Over 10 years’ experience in a Telecommunications Engineer, Architect or Technical. Assurance role within the Oil and Gas industry, and preferably within the Upstream Gas business. Expert knowledge of Network Infrastructure Architecture and Operational Critical. Systems such as Fibre and Microwave Transmission layers. Deep understanding and knowledge of project management, application management, risk management and quality management methodologies, standards and associated processes. Certification and hand?on experience in some of the following; Cisco CPT, WAN and LAN routing protocols (EIGRP, IGRP, BGP, HSRP); Ethernet switch technologies (spanning tree (STP/RSTP); Wireless network technologies: 802.11/ABGN, Cisco WCS and access points; Network authentication protocols and Network monitoring protocols. Design and implementation MPLS and QoS

Digital Field Communications Engineer Job Description
- Analyse the designed network to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement
- Collaborate with App Development, IT Ops, IT Security teams and the business on new requirements; and develop networking architectural designs to fit
- Interface and work with Enterprise Network Portfolios and regional Service Owners to validate the designs and support models
- Perform network modelling, analysis, and planning
- Produce Architecture Designs and roadmaps, and author both high and low?level design (HLD's/LLD's) for (u)(W)LAN network layers and transport, as well as Voice,
- Web/email Filtering, remote access, LAN, security platforms, remote access, WSUS and Anti?Virus servers, and load balancing
- Shape, design and propose compelling integrated designs to meet both functional and non?functional business requirements.
- Lead technical discussions with service companies around their WAN/communications strategy and MPLS offerings
- Coordinate with relevant Service Owners to deliver any specific configurations for software and hardware commissioning and operations
- Support Commissioning and System Handover activities and facilitate the transition process from projects to operations with the Service Owner
- Support Tender evaluations and selections of networking services and products, and work closely with PSCM and Telco vendors to procure services
- Assess vendor test strategies and govern test plans
- Inspect and verify Digital Field Communications systems
- Proven ability to drive enterprise architecture best practices broadly and deeply, while able to articulate and convincingly influence decision?makers on operation support requirements
- Strong exposure in the delivery of highly scalable, economically feasible and high performing systems and networks, within a functional deliver matrix of Engineering
- Procurement Contractor, Telecommunications Systems Integrator, Operational
- Critical Telecommunications group, Instruments and Controls, Enterprise IT&S and
- Major Project environment exposure to business theory, business process development, governance processes, management and budgeting
- Over 10 years’ experience in a Telecommunications Engineer, Architect or Technical
