Purpose and Accountabilities

  1. The successful candidate will join a team of Brownfield Engineers dedicated to ensuring that well delivery is not only competitive, but continuously improving.  Initial reporting responsibilities are expected to be that of Brownfields SS/TLP Sr Wells Engineer / Ursa basin.
  2. The successful candidate will join a team of enthusiastic, self-directed, and action-oriented staff who work effectively together and enjoy what they do. 
  3. The successful candidate is expected to embrace a culture of curiosity and self-direction and will be exposed to challenging assignments.  
  4. Engage CET, Theme Office, CWI, SURF, and Performance Units and drive a focused effort to identify and eliminate DWDP inefficiencies.  Drive integration with CET, Theme, Technologies, etc. to revolutionize Brownfield well design through collaborative implementation of low cost high value completions (e.g. slim, multizone, campaign driven, etc.)
  5. Efficiency and Predictability – act with a sense of urgency to identify and address inefficiencies in our business with a focus on predictability through consistency in design, materials, and operational procedures. 
  6. Embrace a culture of risk-based challenge and ensure that well specific wins are cascaded throughout the portfolio (e.g. Tight margin drilling, Casing elimination, Tieback-less Production design, TAP, etc).
  7. Project Design/Execution - Deliver world-class design and contribute to execution performance by embedding competitive scoping methodology in the front end of the Global Well Delivery Process (WDP).
  8. Preparation of detailed cost and time estimates, tracking of relevant metrics during job execution, after action reviews (AAR) documentation, well handover to production, and developing subsequent improvement plans.
  9. HSSE - Integrate HSSE in the design, programming, and execution of well work on drilling operations. Actively promote HSSE and Sustainable Development (SD) in all activities and ensure compliance with business principles.
  10. Mentor junior staff in all aspects of well engineering design and operations, and in interaction with other asset teams.
  11. Support and foster relationships with other asset teams including subsurface, production, facilities, and construction. Support engagements with JV partners and the development and analysis of competitive benchmarking to drive operational excellence.
  12. Lead the technical and HSSE management of relevant service provider contracts and support the contracting and procurement strategy. Collaborate with contractors regarding performance, variances, etc. as needed.
  13. Actively drive the identification, development, and implementation of new technologies and the opportunities to optimize field operations.
  14. Develop annual personal performance review/management documents including performance contracts, individual development plans (IDPs) and goals and performance appraisals (GPAs).
 

Requirements

  • Round II Certification/Diploma required
  • Experienced in DVA and SS Wells Design and Operations
