Senior Drilling Engineer - Operations - United Arab Emirates
An international E&P Operating Company looking to recruit a Senior Drilling Engineer with expertise in Drilling Operations to work out of their offices in the UAE.
This is a consultant contract opportunity offered on an annual / renewal contract basis.
SCOPE OF WORK
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
·Ensures all services and equipment are available in a timely fashion for their exploration wells.
·Receive handover of the well from the Planning team in the Programme phase and prepares and delivers detailed operational programmes and all required start up documentation.
·Provides Ops support during the operational phase of the well and liaises with other functions as required.
·Delivers end of well reports in a timely fashion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
·Take part in the WDP (Well Delivery Process) for planning their exploration wells with particular focus in the Programme phase when the well(s) will be handed over from the Planning Section in the Drilling Engineering Team to the Operations Section.
·Develop the detailed operational programmes and start up documents for the well
·Gain sign off on all relevant documents required to start up the operations - for example Risk Assessments, Dispensations, Bridging Documents, Authority to Spud.
·Work with Supply Chain to ensure all services and equipment are ready for the well.
·When drilling the well provide operational support to the ops team and liaise with Head Office teams to ensure operations performed within approved standards and well objectives delivered in an optimum fashion.
·Delivers end of well reports in a timely fashion
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·Degree in Engineering, at least 10 years' experience in relevant Drilling Engineering positions required.
·Minimum 10 years in Drilling Engineering related areas.
