Process Design Chemical Engineer


Evaluate existing equipment and instrument performance, design new equipment and instrumentation and work with other disciplines to effectively install and startup these items

This job includes the following duties:

• Create mass and energy balances
• Use engineering fundamentals to evaluate the performance of existing equipment
• Use engineering fundamentals to correctly size equipment, piping and instrumentation
• Create equipment specification sheets
• Create instrument specification sheets
• Create and/or revise P&IDs and PFDs
• Work with other Engineering disciplines to refine equipment and instrument specification sheets
• Generate process alternatives, if required, to meet process and economic requirements
• Review equipment drawings from vendors and submit corrections and/or modifications, as needed
• Revise and/or create DCS programming documentation
• Revise and/or create operating procedures
• Calculate emissions from the equipment
• Create reports, as needed
• Communicate with Operations, R&D, Technology Resources, Business, and HSE concerning the items above.
• Help startup the equipment

Education: 

• Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering

Experience: 

• Desired 5-10 year in Process Design.
