Introduction

We are pleased to offer the following contract opportunity of a Package Engineer - Electrical based in St. John's, NL.

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 1 year, renewable

Description

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is being executed as a contract scope of work.

The duties and job functions of the Package Engineer— Mechanical may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support close-out efforts including on-site walkdowns for project processes including Site Queries, Concession Requests, Non-conformances, As-Built Documentation, Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, etc;
  • Support stewardship of Project Documentation Turnover with Suppliers/ Contractors;
  • Work closely with Project Completions and Handover team members to ensure constructability and operability design requirements are stewarded;
  • Support overall delivery of allocated packages in accordance with the approved budget;
  • Work closely with Package Leaders, Project Services/Planners, Engineering Manager, Company's Technical and Design Integrity group, Construction &Completions Managers, Quality Assurance, and other functional areas;
  • Coordinate Supplier/Contractor comment response sheets;
  • Monitor Deliverable Distribution Matrix based on Supplier Document Registers;
  • Monitor project deliverables and milestones to help ensure compliance with project schedule;
  • Ensure all package clearly identified and scheduled ; liaise with LCF and Contractor Interface coordinators to ensure interfaces are progressed in a timely manner;
  • Highlight and monitor critical items in cooperation with other team members;
  • Organize and lead meetings related to delivery of package(s), working to resolve issues that could impact overall delivery;
  • Work with contractors to ensure that the installed facilities meet the required standards and contract specifications;
  • Support all internal reporting requirements including input into PMT Weekly and Monthly Reports;
  • Other duties as the project evolves.

Requirements

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • 2 years' project delivery experience in technical, project support, and/or construction roles.
  • Prior experience with delivery of medium to large scopes in a large project execution environment considered an asset.
  • Background in electrical systems /engineering.
  • Understanding of project management processes and management systems.
  • Background in resolution of technical /management issues during projects' execution phase
