PROCUREMENT COORDINATOR
Reports to : Purchasing Manager
General Job Function:
The responsibilities of a Procurement Coordinator are:
1. For Conventional operations, during the bidding stage, to provide to Sales dept. costs and schedule for materials and services;
2. To purchase, in accordance to the given budget, schedule and technical requirements;
3. To control the Supplier schedule during the PO execution.
To achieve the above goals, the Purchasing Coordinator needs to have knowledge on Suppliers market and purchasing strategies. When deviation from budget, schedule or technical requirements are unavoidable, the Procurement Coordinator will inform the relevant dept. to ask instruction to proceed.
Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority):
1. Providing support to project for product realization through procurement and supplier activities - including interacting with supplier representatives and regulatory agencies
2. Participate in and support Procurement aspects during marketing phase / bid evaluation
3. Control the Supplier schedule: assure that the Supplier deliver the products on time and in compliance with Westinghouse’s quality and standards requirements.
4. Supporting the project management team to interface with Supplier Quality support organizations
5. Ensuring flow down of Quality and technical requirements from Westinghouse contract through to the supplier
6. Evaluate new and existing suppliers and subcontractors and support negotiation purchase agreement with them.
7. Supporting Commercial Operations and Legal for Quality/technical bases of supplier claims, as required
8. Interacting externally with:
- Suppliers
- Regulators and Authorized Nuclear Inspection Agencies
- Eventually customer for meeting at supplier facility or customer meeting focus on manufacturing progress
9. Interacting internally with:
- Project Managers and PMO
- Supplier Oversight (SQO)
- Quality Program (QP) and Supplier Quality Assessments (SQA)

Education Level (Degree, Area of Study) – Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience required
Years of Experience (if applicable):
Minimum 7+ years relevant experience in Purchasing
Skills and Competencies:
- English & Italian speaker
- Strategic sourcing expertise and technical knowledge in high spend categories within global O&G suppliers (+50 Meuro/year)
- Category management experience in multiple goods categories (forgings, heavy plates, piping, valves, bulk O&G, MRO, chemicals, lubricants)
- Category management experience in multiple services categories (welding, fabrication, engineering, special quality control, transport and logistics)
- EPC experience in fast track projects in one or more of the following areas: refineries construction, gas / power plants, gas – crude pipelines, FPSO, offshore platforms, drilling, naval construction.
- Expediting and inspection coordination with European and remote suppliers (Far East), liaising with inspection agencies and customers representatives at site.
- Contractual and legal experience to manage orders variations with suppliers, claims and contracts closure.
- Business acumen in managing suppliers strategic relationships with major O&G customers.
