Position Title Team Leader Maintenance Instrumentation                                   

Reports to Manager Maintenance Workshop, Planning & Contracts

Location Oman

JOB PURPOSE  
Leads, and coordinates, the provision of Instrument maintenance services across company sites and all related operations  under Manager Maintenance Workshop, Planning & Contracts  scope as Technical Service provider of maintenance and execution of minor projects, modifications in accordance with the technical standards set by TSD to maintain the assets through: the 1) Design and Leads instrument  Maintenance services  / works 2) the coordination and supervision of assets, products and maintenance Instrument Workshop & testing   works  in the designated area 3) Establish and implement Instrument maintenance strategies and facilitates detailed planning & coordination of all maintenance work 4) and supervise the designated team including the organization and implementation of technical training for improvement of Instrument maintenance skills; in order to ensure an optimum Instrument  maintenance in Plants within day- to-day maintenance activities, as well as, during plants’ turnaround and overhauls.

Team Leader Maintenance Instrumentation (WPC) position will act in accordance with company's values and strategies, policies, guidelines, technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government and other legal justification’s, and best international practices aligned with national objectives and Ethics.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Deliverables
  • Accountable for availability of Instrumentations, Analyzers and Controls systems, UPS/BC  and communication system of the area
  • Ensure application of best work practices in execution of Instrumentations maintenance jobs.
  • Responsible for Instrumentations side of project implementation in facilities.
  • Implements the Preventive Maintenance (PM) plan within his section and execution along with  work backlogs
  • Prepares procurement plan for his section.
  • Responsible for preparing the LLF of instruments and its implementations
  • Participate in Management of Change (MOC) committee review meetings.
  • Ensure  Instrument equipment maintenance history & reports are updated in SAP (CMMS)
  •  Identify the  critical issues, repetitive failure of Instrument equipment , done and  the RCA Recommendations implemented for the area
  • Monitors staff attendance, attitude and implements discipline within the section.
  • Prepare annual leave plans
  • Directs, supervises and controls all work for instruments maintenance and calibration.
  • Receives and analyses periodic reports on instruments maintenance and scheduled turnarounds and determines the best course of action for increasing the Section’s efficiency.
  • Provides full technical & manpower support during plants’ shutdown.
  • Determines long term instrument maintenance policy and oversees detailed planning of maintenance activities and programs. 
  • Reviews policies of warehouse materials/spare parts and determines strategy of their handling and procurement and ensures availability.
  • Coordinates efforts within the Section to develop guidelines, specifications, best practices and procedures for maintenance of pressure, level, flow, temperature, vibration and pH instruments.
  • Maintains technical expertise in functional areas of process instrumentation.
  • Carries out the technical evaluation of bids and generate the evaluation report.
  • Develops IDP of Omanis within the section, prepares training programs and monitors their implementation.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Minimum Qualifications for this position is Engineer in Mechanical, Engineering or   equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
  • 15 years of total experience, minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar Area on Instrumentation Equipment’s, Analysers, Calibrations, control systems, ESDs within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry.
  • Experience in Instrumentation Equipment’s , Analysers, Calibrations, control systems
  • Background in Instrumentations maintenance
  • knowledge of  Instrument Workshop & testing    
  • Knowledge of  SIL,SCADA and other instruments software applications,
  • Experience in  Instrumentation maintenance best practice
 
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
  • knowledge of  Instrument Workshop & testing    
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes:
    • Heavy Oil Complex Operation (CDU, VDU, SGP, LTU, KTU, DCU, and UGP)
    • Hydro Processing Complex (HCU/ARU/SRU/SWS/DHT/HPU/PSA)
    • Sulfur/Utilities Complex Operations (SRU, TGTU, ARU, CRU, SSW, CSW, BFW, Steam Generation, Air, N2, CWT, WWTP)
    • Offsite/Logistics Complex Operations (Crude Receiving Terminal, Refinery Tankage, product Dispatch, Coke and Sulfur Handling, Flare, Buildings)
  • Familiar with Systems, Applications and Products in data processing (SAP).
  • Expertise in Instrumentation Equipment’s , Analysers, Calibrations, control systems,ESDs
  • Experience on pre-commissioning and commissioning of Local control station/ Plant interface bus and DCS.
  • Good knowledge of modern maintenance technologies & maintenance Planning and execution of Instrumentation Equipment’s , Analysers, Calibrations, control systems,ESDs
