We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, a large Oil and Gas operator, is currently seeking a Field Technologist/Engineer for a contract role in St. Albert, AB. The individual must be local or have their own accommodations, as no LOA is given. The shift is Monday-Friday.
The primary focus of the field technologist/engineer will be to optimize oil/gas wells to maintain 90%+ run time. The role will also provide exposure to regulatory standards, field metering and volume variance issues. There will opportunities to interface with field operations to optimize facility operations including power consumption, compression, facility consolidation, well reviews, lifting costs which will provide the candidate with a well-rounded skill set.

There will opportunities to interface with field operations to optimize facility operations including power consumption, compression, facility consolidation, well reviews, lifting costs which will provide the candidate with a well-rounded skill set.
Core Responsibilities:
- Participate in well reviews
- Prepare artificial lift / bottom hole pump repair programs using Rodstar and other applications
- Follow up with AER regulatory issues to closure
- Perform Piper Modelling to optimize gas gathering systems usage
- Work within a technical team environment
- Co-ordinate bhp (bottomhole pressure) surveys and fluid level surveys
- Oversee suspended well inspections
- Co-ordinate packer and zone isolation testing
- Co-ordinate WGR (water/gas ratio) testing as required
- Review and resolve volume variance and measurement issues
- Gain experience in minor construction projects and bottom hole wireline work
- Work on well optimizations with the foreman
- Generate AFEs (Authorizations for Expenditure) within area of responsibility
Qualifications:
- Typically 3+ years of related industry experience with Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, Accumap and/or GeoVista
