Job Title – Maintenance Planner

We are a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, a growing Midstream Operator, has a permanent opportunity for a Maintenance Planner to support a major greenfield facility based in Corpus Christi, TX.  

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Planner reports directly to the Planning Supervisor, Maintenance and is responsible for planning and processing corrective and preventive maintenance work orders. The Maintenance Planner must be collaborative with all stakeholders to aid in maintaining, developing, modifying and continuous improvement of existing work practices. Dedication, sensitivity to safety issues and compliance with regulations, policies and procedures are essential for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the terminal. The Maintenance Planner will also support the Maintenance Department in achieving its performance goals.


Possess an extensive knowledge of equipment repair practices, procedures and time requirements for accurate job planning. Must possess the ability to research and identify the correct materials for both Preventive and Corrective work orders. Must possess the ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and schematics. Possess basic knowledge of safe work practices, governmental regulations and related technical and safety codes, standards and reporting requirements. Knowledgeable of plant rules, guidelines and policies regarding relevant equipment operations and certification requirements. Maintenance Planner must have a proficient understanding of the CMMS system, including its integration with inventory, purchasing, budgeting and accounting practices.
 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Create corrective and preventive maintenance job plans and procedures using vendor manuals, best practices and other technical information and utilizing Company’s CMMS to its fullest extent.
  • Maintain integrity of PM program, and aid in the continual development/enhancement of the PM program.
  • Review recorded hours worked against Corrective Maintenance Job plans for continuous process improvements.
  • Back-up other discipline Planners and Schedulers as needed.
  • Work directly with warehouse personnel to ensure the correct parts are available for upcoming task.
  • Supports maintenance interventions to support equipment reliability and availability of the facility
  • Recognize, evaluate and act on the environmental consequences to achieve the highest level of environmental responsibility
  • Support the goal of 100% regulatory compliance.
  • Records maintenance data and informs Planning Supervisor, Maintenance Planning of potential problems and failures in a timely manner
  • Works with departmental Technicians, Supervisors and Managers to expeditiously resolve problems to improve systems and processes for reliable data acquisition
  • Participates and aids in the development of Department budgets, tracking and expense monitoring.
  • Aids in the development of Department KPI's, equipment reliability tracking, project planning and the tracking of progress to completion.
  • Comply with all regulatory and Company training requirements
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
 
Qualifications (education, Experience And Skills) 

Education and Certifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Formal education in related technical or engineering discipline is desirable.
 Experience:
  • A minimum of 8 years field experience in respective craft. A senior craftsman is preferred.
  • Formal education and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with personal characteristics of integrity, accountability and dependability are also required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with CMMS is required.
  • Experience with Maximo CMMS is highly desirable. Oracle eAM, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel is desirable.
Skills
  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and plan repairs to plant equipment including ordering all repair parts, identifying specialized tools and equipment while accurately estimating manpower requirements to complete task.
  • Strong ability to multi-task while maintaining quality work.
  • An acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment.
  • Dedication, sensitivity to safety issues, compliance with policies and procedures are all essential for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the terminal.
  • Able to follow directions and quickly formulate and effectively communicate questions if clarification of an assignment is required.
  • Able to apply existing skills in new roles and or environments.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite, and an aptitude for learning new software applications and systems.
  • Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
