Role: Drilling Engineer

The Drilling Engineer is responsible for well planning and execution of platform drilling campaigns.
Key Job Responsibilities: Well planning work for platform wells including Landmark engineering modelling, liaison with service providers and contractors, peer reviews and risk assessments. Support Asset Team in subsurface planning of wells with decision support information. Conduct technical limit & benchmarking studies. Prepare cost estimates, HSE notifications and other permits. Drilling engineering support during the execution phase including development of detailed well operational programmes, drill the well on paper exercise, daily operations support, performance monitoring and optimisation. Well lookbacks and final well reports post execution phase.
Required Qualifications & Skills: Engineering Degree or equivalent. Ability to design and prepare directional and ERD drilling programmes for platform wells, casing design, drill string design, torque and drag / hydraulics predictions, well bore stability analysis, fluids and cement selections, risk assessments etc. Effective in providing day to day operational support to the Drilling Supt during assigned well operations. Works well with others in a multi-functional team environment. Able to interact effectively with peers, and external bodies such as regulators, service and contractor representatives etc.
Holds well control certification at subsea supervisor level.
