Our client, a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, has a permanent opportunity for a Lead Mechanical to be based in Houston, TX.
Objective
The individual is responsible for a wide range of activities throughout front end loading, detailed engineering, and construction of the overall project. The incumbent is the mechanical specialist and technical authority. Provide Technical Assurance to the project by participating in respective project design and construction activities with the counterpart specialist on the Engineering Contractor or Construction project team.

Essential Functions
- Experience with and knowledge of safety and quality management systems,
- Experience with and in depth knowledge of chemical operations, maintenance operations and associated regulations,
- Excellent budgeting and cost control skills
- In depth understanding of project development process, track record of effective project schedule management
- Solid understanding of unit operations, Rotating and Static equipment experience
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, advanced degree a plus
- A minimum 15 years’ experience in engineering and significant project management experience within the chemical industry
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing engineering and/or technical support personnel
- Experience in successfully delivering major capital projects and negotiating the associated contracts
- Some experience in managing EPC Technical Teams a plus
- Strong leadership, delegation, and excellent influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills (upward, lateral, and downward)
- Effective organization and management of work teams
- Self-motivated, self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
