Our Client is a leading developer and manufacturer of Oil and Gas equipment, they are looking for an experienced Test & Assembly Technician to support current and new projects.
This is a contract role, with the possibility of leading to a staff engagement, based Near Reading, Berkshire
  

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Identifying production processes, including test equipment and test methods to improve production processes, improving the quality and reducing lead times
Working closely with other engineering teams during the design phase to minimise production hours and quality challenges
Supporting production and other departments with raising and dispositioning non conformity's
Analyse all necessary documentation prior to production requirements and creating the necessary work packages
Developing standard works instructions to ensure high quality of workmanship within production
Generating work packages that are error free
Marking up documentation on the shop floor and informing engineering of the required amendments

  • Perform detailed Assembly & Test activities in line with work instructions and procedures, ensuring that all aspects of the task are undertaken including completion of documentation
  • Ensure that all tools & equipment used is calibrated and fit for purpose, with appropriate cleanliness levels where required
  • Ensure that issues arising are captured through the correct channels in line with the company’s Quality Management System
  • Ensure good housekeeping & support Continuous Improvement activities, including 5S
  • Ensure Quality & HSSE in all work, flagging concerns and stopping activities that do not comply with requirements
  • As necessary, perform other duties requiring similar level of skill and responsibility



Qualifications / Personal Attributes: 
Minimum Requirement; City and Guild/Apprenticeship
(Preferable HNC/HND in a Mechanical Discipline)

  • Experience reading & interpreting mechanical assembly diagrams and test procedures
  • Experience working within manufacturing environment
  • Experience with relevant product
  • Experience implementing Lean methodologies & Continuous Improvement tools
