Title: Installation Technician - Wind
Country: Spain
Installation Technician is responsible for ensuring that manufactures turbines are constructed per approved procedures and are authorised to act in an advisory capacity to manufactures construction contractors to ensure proper installation for all components prior to turbine hand over to the commissioning lead.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Verify that the work is completed in compliance with customer's requirements.
- Document all work performed.
- Follow all assigned Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.
- Supervise the construction of wind turbines.
- Perform installation inspection of completed turbines.
- Repair defects.
- Report policy or procedure violation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Submit progress reports.
- Liaise with internal and external customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have at least 3 - 5 years of WTG installation experience.
- Be able to operate tools, equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge of Torquing towers, aligning generators, pulling pucks using torque, slam, and large wrenches.
- Knowledge of Concrete Towers installation.
- Knowledge of Mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Experience of cleaning and lubricating on maintenance.
- All candidates most have full safety training certificates:
1st Aid including CPR
Manual Handling
Working on heights
Fire Awareness
Medical Certificate for working at heights
Must be proficient in:
- Prep, locating, lifting and installation of major WTG components.
- Rotor Assembly; Hub prep and staging, blade lifting, handling and torquing.
- Rotor Install; Prep and installation.
- Tower wiring and cable drop.
- Buss bar system prep and installation.
- Generator Alignment.
- IIP procedure, LOTO and process.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment.
- Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Motor vehicle operation to and from turbines, shop, and multiple sites.
- Computer proficient.
Certificates required:
- TPC -Tarjeta Personal de la Construcción
- PRL 60 hours- Prevención Riesgos Laborales
