Control Systems Field Service Engineer - ABB 800xA

We are seeking a Control Systems Field Service Engineer, will be required to work independently or as part of a team based on customer/contract requirements to deliver service on a variety of products. Technical skills will be considered the foundation of this position to deliver contract and/or on demand services.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: The work experience will include ABB 800xA products, and other Process Control equipment. Service engineering skills associated with distributed control systems configuration and maintenance. You will develop a good working knowledge of the 800xA hardware and software as well as customer satisfaction skills. Effective skills will vary on a wide range of ABB system types. You will develop exceptional troubleshooting skills to put it all together to solve most problems. Great communication skills will be a key asset and one that will result in an assertive style of action while maintaining customer empathy. A good understanding of the technical aspects of Process Control Systems is a must. The knowledge received can range initially from basic maintenance to application services to allow the candidate to address a wide range of system/control issues. The field service engineer will be part of a team of individuals that make up the service support structure which consists of a service Dispatch/Coordinator for logistics, a dedicated Regional Technical resource for technical mentoring, an Operations Manager for personnel issues and management, and various call centre operations resources to assist with difficult field problems.

Requirements:

Basic qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of professional work experience; OR - Associates Degree and 3 years of professional work experience; OR - Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of professional work experience. Preferred qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 1 year of professional work experience. - Excellent troubleshooting skills, Application Engineering, Computer Network Administration. - A good understanding of the technical aspects of Process Control Systems is a must.

Various locations in Europe at various length of contract.

Hourly rate negotiable depending upon experience
