Role: Operations Manager - PT&D

Salary: £75,000 to £80,000 plus package.

Location: South East of England

Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a history of successfully delivering Utilities projects? Are you looking for an opportunity to lead an Operational team within a £1bn flagship Power, Transmission & Distribution Framework? Then a role within a Market leading Contractor could be for you.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, my client is looking to recruit an experienced Leader to be accountable for the performance of a portfolio of projects and be a key member of the Divisional Senior Management Team.

The successful candidate will possess strong organisational skills, have attention to detail and sound commercial awareness.

Your duties will include:

  • A member of the Infrastructure Senior Management Team, promote the interest of the Group and Division.
  • Accountable for the profit and loss performance of a portfolio of projects.
  • Report variances to end of life costs, safety, quality and environmental compliance, project risks and project compliance.
  • Plan and liaise with other Senior Managers the allocation and recruitment of staff.
  • Communicate to project teams, the vision, objectives and business strategies of the Division and Group.
  • Maintain technical and managerial awareness and proficiency to current standards.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key Customers and their teams.
  • Identify and recommend personal development and training requirements for staff.

Ideal Qualifications include:

  • A specialist, with proven project management experience within the power industry, and coming from a Civils background.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and people management skills.
  • Commercially and financially competent with strong negotiation skills.
  • Experienced in implementing and maintaining HSQE and Management procedures and practices.
  • Technically conversant with all relevant industry standards, specifications and practices.
