The Environmental Specialist / Engineer is responsible for setting up and operationalizing the Company's Israel Environmental plan ensuring that:
? Negotiate and ensures all Company Environmental permits, licenses and consents conditions are in place in advance of required dates for onshore and offshore and maintain ongoing compliance.
? Proactively engage with Environmental related government agencies, building trust and professional relationships to ensure no surprises to the operation and conditions optimization for cost and operability.
? Establish Company's Israel Environment performance indicators and provide management and ongoing clear and up to date status and trends on operation environmental performance and compliance.
The Environmental Specialist / Engineer position reports directly to the HSE Manager Israel
MAIN DUTIES
? Set up and manage Company's Israel Environmental program ensuring program implementation within all operations both onshore and offshore.
? Set up and maintain Company Environmental performance goals and indicators based on the Environmental plan. Monitor track and communicate performance.
? Ensure that any Environmental permit conditions, commitments and legal obligations are executed
? Interface with regulatory bodies and with public sector as required.
? Regular engagement with Company's Israel contractors including construction and drilling service contractors to ensure that project and production compliance with Company environmental requirements in the field.
? Provide technical support during design to ensure that environmental requirements are included in design of facilities and later during production for optimization and continuous improvement
? Undertake onshore and offshore Environmental audits and follow-up on corrective action items execution.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
? Environmental program in place and followed.
? Environmental performance indicators in place and goals and targets met.
? Compliance to Environmental permit conditions, commitments and legal obligations.
? Professional working relations with government and public sector on environmental matters to enable future growth and flexibility for the operation.
KEY COMPETENCIES
? Good understanding and experience with Israel Environmental regulatory permit and compliance processes.
? Strong technical environmental capabilities in offshore O&G or other process industry and demonstrate quick learning curve to fill missing knowledge.
? Engineering or Master of Science degree in either Environmental / Chemical / Marine or O&G with at least 5 years of practical experience in an environmental capacity.
? Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and demonstrate consistency and persistence for meeting company requirements
? Good negotiation and communication skills and ability to work within a multicultural work environment
? Ability to engage at all levels of the organization and project in the field, offshore operations, with regulators and senior management.
? A genuine team player having the desire to work in the broader sphere of HSE team activities including occupational safety risk management, emergency and oil spill response.
? Ability to work overtime when needed.
? Ability to travel offshore when needed.
