My client is a well established EPC. Looking to add to their Operation team in Angola. This opportunity is on a 10/3 rotation working 6 days per week (Single Status).

Overview of Role:

  • The In- Country Operations Manager is based in the country of Operations for one or several projects. He/She is the project operations Leader, and the project operations representative, in charge of the day to day support activities to the project(s).
  • The role of In-Country Operations Manager is carried out using regional the client organisation, in-place in the country of Operations.
  • The In-Country Operations Manager is supported by local team provided either by GPC Organisation or Africa Regional The client Organisation. With this team, the in- Country Operations Manager will support Projects like a services provider.
  • Being the key point of contact for all in-country Operations, The In-Country Operations Manager must ensure that all aspects of Security, Safety, Health and quality are applied on all in-country operational activities.

Specific Responsibilities:

General

Ensure that all aspects of Group & Project process and procedure regarding Security, Safety, Health & Quality, Ethics and Compliance are implemented on each of the in-Country work sites under her/his responsibility, and report to Country Organisation and Projects Operations and HSE Organisations, as necessary.

HSE

  • Ensure that all aspects of the project's Health, Safety, Security & Quality are implemented on each of the project's work sites under his responsibility and reported to the Project's HSE organisation.
  • Implement resources required for the Emergency Response Plan Onshore and Offshore, including Medical support/medivac, in co-ordination with project's and
  • Country's HSE rules.
  • Implement recommendations defined by the In-country HSE Manager to all worksites under his responsibility.

Assistance to an In-Country Organisation

  • Follow-up and assistance in organizing the internal Safety / Security Policy. Ensure that the skill and behaviour of the employees provided for our internal business is in adequacy with the work to be done, in-country. Ensure local in-country cultures is well understood by all out-of-Country People working in-Country.
  • Assist to the implementation in the Country of operations, of the Group procedures and verify their applications for the entire scope, the In-Country Operations
  • Manager is in charge. A specific focus shall be done on Ethic and Compliance.

Assistant to Projects Operations Organisation

  • Provide assistance to the Projects Operations Manager for preparation & readiness of the Onshore Logistic support in-Country, for the offshore Operations.
  • Provide assistance to the Projects Operations Manager for budgeting, planning, monitoring, reporting and cost control of the in-country Operations and for Logistic support of the project.
  • Safely execute the operations locally, and ensuring that necessary logistic support is provided and implemented.
  • Manage the projects' Operations support team, based in-Country.
  • Inform and report to the Project's Operations Manager whenever a change is likely to impact the project's operations.

Essential Requirements

Education:

  • Graduated with a Civil / Marine Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Specific Qualifications:
  • Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level

Essential Skills

Technical:

  • Proven ability to solve operational problems without supervision and deliver effective results to internal clients
  • Contribute to creating and managing a positive HSEQ culture within the clients, providing safety leadership and championing the client's critical safety behaviours
  • Experiences in managing large and multi-functional teams with focus on team efficiency and effectiveness and People Development

Essential Experience:

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience in oil and Gas Business dealing with Projects and Offshore Construction Operations, both in Office and in-Country
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work in a fast paced environment
