Fabrication Yard Senior Inspection Engineer
Our client is an internationally renowned Oil & Gas operator that is looking to recruit 2x Fabrication Yard Senior Inspection Engineers for a long-term Drilling operation to work on a residential basis in Qatar.
Job Purpose
·The Fabrication Yard Senior Inspection Engineer, reporting directly to the fabrication and Installation Quality Lead, responsible for supervising COMPANY QC discipline Inspectors QA & QC (the discipline) activities carried out by Topsides, and Jacket Contractor and Subcontractor at the main Shipyard Construction site during the Construction, and up to and including Mechanical Completion stages.
·Ensures the effective Quality implementation and oversight of the Contractor Quality activities at all fabrication locations and provides participation in NCR and CAR clearance and investigation of debottlenecking activities to ensure effective resolution and clearance of punches, field inspection expertise and minimization of site equipment and preservation issues
Job Context & Major Challenges
·Requires the ability to effectively communicate quality matters at project PMT level
·Strong, assertive Quality management leadership skills. Must be capable of forcefully communicating Quality requirements, results and status throughout Company and contractor management and craft labour levels.
·Exhibit a high degree of computer literacy, coordination and communication skills.
·Persuasive man-management attributes are essential across all levels of the organization with an ability to establish and maintain open and responsive relationships.
·Applies extensive industry-based experience and knowledge to promote and establish existing systems, processes and procedures within a structured quality framework.
·Manages the implementation of PMT Quality solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner that compliments safety, cost and schedule.
Other Requirements
·Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
·Valid AWS CWI or CSWIP certification in welding inspection with a minimum of 15 years' experience in welding inspection after the certification.
·Shall possess excellent knowledge on multiple welding processes, and associated base metals, filler metals.
·NDT level II in RT, UT, and PT & MT. Shall have prior experience in working with cladded (UNS N08825 & UNS N06625) piping system.
·Sound knowledge of welding inspection and Dimensional control techniques including, but not limited to internal and external Video and laser survey Inspection, Intermediate RT, laser measurements for hi-lo, external visual inspection.
·Minimum 5 years' experience working in South East Asia Region
·Sound knowledge of coating and anti-corrosion systems and application
·Ability to manage development and implementation of Projects Managements Systems adapted to Oil & Gas industry.
