Role: Quantity Surveyor - Telecoms Utilities

Location: Essex

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a history of successfully delivering prompt financial completion of projects? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a Commercial team on a large ultra-fast fibre contract? Then a role within a Market leading Utilities Contractor could be for you.

My client is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor with demonstrable track record in managing regional contracts. A detailed knowledge of the NEC Suite of contracts is essential along with a thorough grounding in Civils / Utilities projects. Previous Fibre experience would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be an integral part the commercial team with responsibility for the have the ownership of the regions commercial activities, including applications, cost management, Sub-contractor management and stock.

Your duties will include:

  • Sub-Contractor Management.
  • Managing change including EWNs and CEs
  • Weekly site measures.
  • Ensure orders are placed accurately, GRNs raised and spend is within the set forecast.
  • Support the Commercial Manager with the preparation of monthly CVRs.
  • Ensuring applications are presented to the client.
  • Driving WIP reduction.

Ideal Qualifications include:

  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience
  • Thorough working knowledge of NEC suite of contracts.
  • Commercially aware with past knowledge of finance control.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems at an early stage.
  • Able to lead, set up and manage site-based commercial and reporting systems.
