Personal Attributes, Education & Qualifications:
BSc. / MSc. / MEng. or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
Preferably a Registered Professional, Chartered Engineer or member of Professional Engineering Society
Primary Objective:
To perform the role of Structural Engineer in a client oversight team, assisting the Engineering Manager in the supervision of the selected FEED and EPCIC Contractor. This includes taking full responsibility for all assigned structural related activities during FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Follow-on Engineering stages, through to final Commissioning and Start-up of the Shwe Phase 3 Project.
Position Experience & Skills Requirements
Key Experience Requirements:
Minimum 15 years of work experience of which at least 10 years must be in the upstream Offshore Oil & Gas industry
Previously worked on integrated projects with CAPEX in excess of $100MM.
Preference for previous experience working for an Oil and Gas Operator in a client oversight team during FEED and EPCIC stages of an offshore project
Preference for previous experience working on projects which include brownfield scope of work
Critical Technical Skills and Capabilities:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design of fixed offshore structures (Jackets) including design techniques and analysis methods
Proficient in the use of structural analysis software programs such as SACS/SESAM, STAAD PRO
Good knowledge of 2D/3D modelling techniques and tools such as AUTOCAD / PDMS
Must possess a good understanding of the basic discipline work processes of a FEED and EPCIC project
Well versed with international codes and standards relevant to the discipline such as IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE
Core Personal Skills and Capabilities:
Ability to multi-task, forward plan, independently manage time and perform at a high level without the need for continuous supervision
Proactive, self-motivated, with an ability to prioritize work and make decisions to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, exercising tolerance and respect when working within a diverse and multi-national project team
Ability to oversee work and provide mentoring to inexperienced engineers
Position Responsibilities:
Client supervision of all structural design activities related to the Jacket of the Offshore Facilities to be carried out by EPCIC Contractor
Monitor Contractor scope of work to ensure compliance with BOD and all other contractual requirements
Review and approve structural deliverables prepared by the Contractor including Technical Specifications, Design Basis documents, Primary/Secondary steel designs, structural framing / general arrangement drawings, detailed design calculations and analyses, design reports, procedures, data sheets, and detailed drawings of jackets, piles etc.
Review and approve all relevant Technical Queries, Design Changes and Technical Deviation Requests raised by the Contractor in a timely manner
Ensure all project deliverables and activities are delivered in accordance with the project milestone dates
Ensure interfaces between structural and other engineering disciplines are properly managed
Participate in Design Reviews including the development of the Jacket 3D model
Review and approve TBE, RFQ, and material purchase requisitions for structural materials and MTO’s
Provide Structural discipline input to engineering deliverables produced by other disciplines as required
Liaise with work site and quality personnel to ensure the structures are constructed and tested to the requirements of the standards, specifications, drawings and procedures
Provide technical support and oversee, monitor, review and endorse contractors’ work during load out, transportation, installation and HUC stages of the project
Willingness to travel and relocate to work sites including offshore
