Claim Manager - Metro, Melbourne

We are seeking a Claim Manager to work with a tier 1 major Contractor on a metro project in Melbourne, Australia.

As the Claim Manager you will be responsible for all commercial aspects on a large railway project and leading a team of contract administrators and quantity surveyors.

The successful candidate will join a leading contractor, who are involved in a variety of exciting projects throughout region and world including tunnel, rail, water & renewables

You will have the opportunity to develop and grow a team of contracts administrators and quantity surveyors.

This position is to be based in Melbourne, Australia and is an IMMEDIATE requirement.

Salary Package:

My client is offering a total package of $320,000 per annum + superannuation.

Requirements:

For this role the client has requested professionals with the following desired skills and experience:

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
* MSc is preferred.
* Chartered - MRICS or equivalent is ideal.
* 20 years + experience within construction
* 10 years experience in infrastructure rail projects
* Well versed in tender strategy, commercial management, quantity surveying, contract administration and contract awards.
* Contract review and identification of the right obligations of the various contractual entities
* Recognising contrary positions which are expressed in various correspondences and providing appropriate responses.
* Liaison with various internal functions to establish claim triggers and also gather contemporary records.
* Timely issuing of contractual notices and claims requests.
* Managing and producing claims narratives including coordination with internal and external planning and cost functions to produce a robust, logical submission which establishes entitlement and substantiates the claimed items.
* Assist in the resolutions of any disputes which may manifest.
* Ability to be able to work in Australia
